MIDTOWN EAST · SKYLINE EXPERIENCE
Mirrors everywhere. Manhattan below. A camera roll about to get very busy. Here’s how to choose your SUMMIT ticket, pick your light and turn the visit into a great Midtown afternoon.

Is SUMMIT the right observation deck for you?
Come for the rooms as well as the skyline. The mirrors and installations make the setting part of the outing. A group that loves taking photos may have a very different wish list from someone who just wants a clear view of the city.
Choose the ticket. Skip the guesswork.
Compare the same date, entry time and traveler ages. Then check three things: what’s included, the final total and the cancellation deadline.
What should I check before paying?
A drink, tour or other upgrade makes a package a different purchase. Don’t assume everything in a photograph is included. Compare the official SUMMIT offer with the booking platform, and keep your confirmation and entrance instructions handy. A partner listing is not automatically cheaper.

PICK YOUR LIGHT
Same city. Three very different moods.
Choose the feeling you want, then check the available ticket times. These are our planning suggestions—not promises about the weather or your photos.
“Look how far you can see.”
Start here if spotting buildings and following the street grid is your thing. Bring sunglasses: all those reflections can be bright.
“Let’s make an occasion of it.”
Choose it for the changing light. Check sunset for your actual date and compare any price difference. Clouds get a vote, too.
“There’s our movie moment.”
Choose it if city lights are the main attraction. Leave room for dinner nearby instead of racing across town afterward.
A better camera roll. Less faffing.
- Clean your phone lens first. A tiny wipe beats another fifty blurry shots.
- Try a person, a reflection and a skyline shot. Give yourself a little variety, then put the phone down for a minute.
- Be quick when someone’s waiting. You can get a lovely memory without directing a feature film.
What should I wear and bring?
SUMMIT recommends sunglasses, pants, shorts or tights for the mirrored floors, and comfortable non-marking shoes. Stilettos, work boots, cleats and other damaging footwear are not permitted. Check the current venue rules, including your planned camera equipment, before leaving. If flash creates reflections, try without it.

MAKE AN AFTERNOON OF IT
Grand Central + SUMMIT + something delicious.
Three parts. One area. Far fewer “are we going the right way?” conversations.
Look up.
Explore Grand Central’s public concourse. Our self-guided highlights give the stop a little more purpose.
Go sky-high.
Leave a buffer before your reserved entry. Follow the entrance directions on your confirmation.
Stay for a meal.
Keep dinner nearby and flexible. Don’t stack another timed attraction straight after your visit.
Thinking about an attraction pass?
Use our pass checklist. Only count SUMMIT if the exact current pass explicitly includes it. A saving on things you didn’t want to do isn’t much of a saving.

Questions before you book
Does a sunset ticket guarantee sunset photographs?
No. Weather, the time of year and your progress through the attraction affect the light. Check the sunset time for your date and allow for entry procedures.
Should I book a premium package?
Only when its listed extras matter to you. Compare the same date and time, final total and cancellation rules before paying more.
Can I pair SUMMIT with Grand Central?
Yes. The nearby terminal is a sensible flexible stop. Leave a buffer before your reserved entry and follow your confirmation’s exact entrance directions.
