Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Things To Do NY (“TTDNY,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates thingstodony.com. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use our website and tools, including Discover NYC, Plan My Day, and Near Me.

Information you choose to provide

We may receive information you voluntarily provide, such as information submitted through contact, inquiry, advertising, partnership, itinerary, or newsletter forms. If we add or change a form or email service, this policy will be updated as appropriate.

Your NYC Weekend launch list: If you request an invitation, we collect your email address, optional first name and the consent choice you submit. Signup requests are sent to our site administrator through WPForms notifications so we can prepare the consented launch list. Weekly email delivery has not started. Planned emails may include NYC ideas, planning tips and occasional offers with disclosed affiliate links. You may withdraw your request at any time by emailing hello@thingstodony.com. Marketing emails will include an unsubscribe method when delivery begins.

Location and Near Me

If you choose to use a location-based feature such as Near Me, your browser or device may ask for permission to share your location. Location permission is optional. TTDNY uses the coordinates supplied for that request to identify relevant nearby results. Our current first-party product analytics layer does not store your exact location or use it to create a personal profile. You may deny or revoke location permission through your browser or device settings and continue using borough-based discovery.

Product analytics

TTDNY may measure aggregate interactions with our discovery and planning tools, such as searches, selected filters, zero-result searches, preset selections, itinerary builds, result clicks, and affiliate-link clicks. Our current first-party product analytics layer is designed to store aggregate interaction counts and does not intentionally store names, email addresses, exact location, or user identifiers as part of those events. We use this information to understand which features and types of NYC activities are useful and where our inventory needs improvement.

Affiliate links and external booking services

Some links on TTDNY are affiliate links. If you follow an affiliate link and make a purchase, TTDNY may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Clicking a link to an external provider may allow that provider to process information under its own privacy policy and technologies. Providers may include ticketing, tour, travel, attraction, or other booking services. Affiliate status does not determine TTDNY’s organic recommendation ranking.

Public and third-party information sources

TTDNY may use public or provider-supplied information from sources such as New York City government services, NYC Parks, the National Weather Service, ticketing providers, and activity or tour providers. These sources may have their own terms and privacy practices. TTDNY may cache portions of public or provider data to improve site performance and reliability.

Cookies and technical information

WordPress, our hosting environment, embedded content, security tools, and third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies for functionality, security, preferences, analytics, or external-service features. Logged-in administrators may also receive standard WordPress login and preference cookies. If we introduce additional advertising or analytics technologies that materially change our practices, we will update this policy and any consent controls required for them.

Embedded content and external websites

Pages may contain images, videos, maps, booking links, or other content from external websites. Interacting with an external service may be treated by that service as if you visited it directly. TTDNY is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for site operation and security, or as required by law. Aggregate product analytics may be retained to compare trends over time. Information held by external booking, hosting, email, or other service providers is subject to their respective retention practices.

Your choices

You may decline location permission, choose not to follow affiliate or external links, and adjust browser or device cookie and location settings. If you subscribe to marketing email in the future, you will be able to use the unsubscribe method provided with those messages.

Children

TTDNY may recommend family-friendly activities, but our website is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable measures intended to protect the website and information we control. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as TTDNY adds or changes features, providers, analytics, advertising, email services, or other technology. The “Last updated” date above will reflect material revisions.

How TTDNY works: We mix public/community listings with bookable experiences. We label dates, prices and availability based on what we can verify.
